God knows the end from the beginning, thus He knows what each of us will do –including what governments and nations will do. Read Ezekiel 38 and 39, where you will find that the invasion of Israel (in the last days) is foretold. In there, it talks of invasion by those beyond the Euphrates led by their cousins from "the kingdom of the North". John also foretold how these cousins would unite in the midst of Daniel's seventieth week and destroy both Rome and her image –the United States of America (read Revelation 18).

You need to read the history of the Middle East for you to understand. Also check which people were in the land of Canaan from the beginning of these nations.
