Well maybe if we where involved for the qualifiers for the next AFCON or World cup there would be plenty to say. But we are not saka ini ndongoti zii zvangu. Unlike some I am not that fascinated about a 3rd rate COSAFA cup.

As sad as it sounds yes at this stage I am more passionate about Arsenal and Wenger than I am about "The Warriors".

Mablazo said it best I am frustruated about the state of our national team at the moment so I think its better not to say anything about them.(Even though i have just said a bit )

Gudo, we are not suposexd to be talking about the good only. Lets hear your thots on the useless COSAFA. Lets talk about our failures in the years gone by.
Lets argue about who the best Zim goalie was, midfilder, defender...
We can come up with threads analysing the ZIFA debacles... How is Rushwaya to blame 4 failing to qualify... Things like that.

Just as people tear each other's throats on who Wenger/Benitez should buy in the transfer window Y dont we do that with our WORRIERS; who should be in and Y.

We can also discuss our PSL title race that seems to be going to the wire... this is where the worriers come from @ least some of them

How many of you watched ManU-Chelsea when Zim was playing ODI in RSA?
How many of you abroad and even localy know the top scorer in our league? How many know hu is top scoring in Italy, England, Spai, France?

Kachere you have to appreciate that most people on these formus are not in Zimbabwe and unfortunately our league doesn't get a lot of international coverage. Even for those in Africa, DSTV would rather screen other obscure leagues than ours for some reason. So naturally people have lost touch. the poor standards of our national team don't help either. Growing up out of Harare, I would travel to the NSS or Rufaro for virtualy every Warriors game. I had all the jerseys, flags, scarfs, whatever. But mayaz, I think I invested too much of my emotions on a team which other people deliberately play around with. By the 2000s (even though we qualified for AFCON) I had had enough. I gave away my regalia kumusha and I don't regret it. Sport should entertain us, not stress us waona. It seems that simple concept doesn't apply kuZIFA. in the end, it's a matter of enjoyment, patriotism aside. I would rather listen to Bob Marley than Maskiri, regadless of where they come from, if it makes sense.

There has been a progressive decline in the performance of the NT , from 2 qualifications to getting beaten by Namibia 4-2 or something like that.I used to follow the Warriors especially during the Fabisch era but after that i lost interest when Misheck,Grabowski and others were coaching, do you recall someone called Fabian Zulu playing in Bots being called up by Misheck and losing to Swaziland at NSS after that cleansing ceremony.Losing to Swaziland, Namibia etc used to be an aberration but with these guys today you never know. The other problem with Zim football is that we are not producing any new talent at all at least exciting ones, our star player is an injured guy at Man City who is now probably further down in line for a starting place.The rest are in leagues that people don't watch at all like the Belgian league.

When i followed the PSL players like Norman Maroto,Mashiri, Cephas Chimedza,Ngodzo,Joseph Kamwendo were playing decent stuff but i haven't heard about them ever since. ZIFA dont have the capacity to come up with a developmental plan of any sort and they were being accused of starving some of those age group teams when they were in camp.

The way we search on the internet 4 the political news is interesting... I dont agree that Zim people outside dont get coverage of our soccer. We chuz not to follow our sport. How many times have we had people posting live streaming of Euro games... Yet COSAFA had a site yaiita minute by minute update and few diasporians visited it.

The cricket games between Zim and Jozi just heloed reaffirm the point 4 me. My mates choz to watch ManU-Chelsea when Zim was 30 minutes drive away. The second ODI was even worse, even 4 a Tuesday, people did not turn up. Zimbabweans did not go ... mutambo waiita R50 shamwari. I love drinking kucricket, the braai is 1st class, BUT Zimbaz will rather cheer royal challengers.

Kachere I admire your passion. However people are different, there was a time when I lived and breathed the Warriors but my support has been abused so I choose not to waste my time following a mediocre team, its my choice. Even if I resided in Zimbabwe I would still feel the same.

There are problems with our soccer but its your/our duty to find solutions and give advice just as you do to MDC on these forums

I agree Zimbabweans are frustrated by their team BUT Y dont we get frustrated nemaforeign teams which we follow. Gudo: Arsenal hasnt won anything since the non-loss season/there about, Y are you still following it? How many times have people cried that Wenger must get a DM, he is yet to get one asi makatiiza here?

The problem with Zim warriors is media, our soccer is shown on our one and only ZTV which we can't access from outside Zim. I was quite relieved that Supersport showed the last edition of the COSAFA Senior challange Cup, at least I got to see what was happening with the warriors and Zim football. It was a refreshing sight to see that soccer is still alive and kicking in Zimbabwe! We have a glut of skilfull youngsters coming up the ranks.....People like Semakweri, Kamusoko, Gift Mapemba, Nyasha Mushekwi, Malajila, Mwanjali and Tafadwa Rusike could be the core of our future Warriors, if they get the right coaching, advice and exposure. They were a joy to watch!! Especially in the Final!!

WE LOVE OUR WARRIORS.....even though they dissapoint us way too much, I will never lose interest of watching them play!! Kana wakadyiwa tinondodzokazwe mangwana!! Its our team, Hatirase mbereko ngekufirwa!!
