Get hol do fme on tennysonmkw@gmail.com I can share with you some vital information on your project. better still if you can put in a thousand bucks why cant you go it alone. The deal is irvines will give you feedsd, vaccines etc, including the chinkcs. You will sell them the birds at a particular price. They have standard fowl runs they will require as well as other infrastructural developments. Get in touch if you are serious

They are likely to squeeze your margins due their bargaining power. They will treat you the same way Tesco treats it's suppliers here. You will effectively be operating as their employee, following their standard operating procedures and with little scope for making your own decisions. Unless you are super-efficient expect very low margins.

Zimthug - the devil is in the details. Look at the Irvines contract and decide. The advantage ndeyekupi you don't have to worry about marketing. Trick yehuku ndeyekupi pa5-6weeks they should be sold or else you lose money feeding them. If you have a huge freezer and reliable power source then you can freeze them but freezing costs money too. If you have never done chickens before look into Irvines, use them as a learning curve and since you own zvirugu you can always go it alone after.

Contract chicken farming is not really profitable in the US. Too much control by the big companies & too much legislation. the price of food is also artificially low so the companies are constantly squeezing the small guy. The conditions are a little different in Zimbabwe. Demand is still high and prices are good. I think it's more workable in Zim that in the west. Actually I have a friend who quite the rat race in the US & is successfully doing this in Trinidad. So my advise is before you rule it out look at the contract & decide. Some contracts are better than others.
