When I visited Zimbabwe last year I was shocked at the number of churches which have sprung up everywhere. Even the traditional churches have become more radical and extreme.   Taking a bus from Harare to Bulawayo... there was a prayer before the journey begun and have also heard most business meetings now start with a prayer in some reputable companies.  Gospel musicians are increasing and are making big buck. Mapostori which have always been shunned for their strange beleifs are attracting record numbers.

Why is this the case? You simple need to look at the devastating economic indicators. People have turned to religion christianity in particuler. But the radical practise of christianity by some Zimbabweans is a cause for concern.
Many are spending so much time attending church meetings instead of doing productive things.  if you were to spend a bit of time doing a self evaluation of yourself, you will not a need religious leader to tell you what is wrong with you and why you are not succeeding in life. As Karl Marx said religion is the opium of the masses.  Why are Zimbabweans clinging so much to a religion which was used to colonize them and enslave them. The whites themselves know it, that is why you can count the number who go to church.


Our origins are not known and people are still trying to look for answers. The Genesis fairy tale is just what it is a folk tale, with no evidence........If your God was there why is it that you are scumbags of the world with unimagibale suffering, whilst the heathens prosper in the world your God made..... s

i think its great news that Zimbabwe is becoming more christian Zimbabwe needs to be a one religion state we don't want to end up like Nigeria

Islam, Christianity are not African religions. Our ancestors have lived for many years in harmony with the enviroment and prospered. The problem with christianity is that the religion is not african and there are lots of holes in the theories proposed in the so called holy bible.

1. Adam and Eve were the first humans and got told them to multiply. So along the line people commited incest.. will you sleep with your sister or cousin today? why not that is what your bible say...

2. You sing hymns in church about white as snow, but has an average african seen snow?

3. there are too many denominations each saying they are right..... but at the bottom is competition for money...

4. why do you need to pray to something you can´t see when you have two hands to work and change yourself.....

I did not condemn any person here. What I said was a direct response to what she wrote. What she wrote tells us about what and who she is. What I did was to just clearly expose her. Ask her, if she is honest she will tell you that what I wrote about her is correct. But she being of her father the devil, she will just like her father lie. There is no truth in her.

Back to the topic the Westerner was a mere vessel of globilising the Word.
He obviously saw the way it can pacify the masses and oppressed that. But the
Word is still the Word and the westerner  will be judged accordingly.
My issue was with Pendu who seems to condemn the author for this thread
yes this is how many people view religion the world over. Its our duty as Christians
to make bring them to the Word and God will do the rest.
