Sadly yes. I know of one person who actually died from an OD of that mess.

Simple.
Drug mules orchestrated by those from a certain part of West Africa.
Corrupt customs & immigration personnel allow port entry to high risk groups.
Shady tuck shops masquerading as businesses offload the product(s).

this is really worrying because if we add these drugs into the equation of a broken political system the country might not even recover

To understand the potential extent of impending damage and social erosion, we need to transcend political differences. There is a growing problem with regard to drugs, human trafficking and other social ills in Zimbabwe.
The problem is most younger generation Zimbabweans lack the hindsight or foresight to discern how grim things look if they persist unchecked. Perhaps people need to look a the social history of certain countries and contrast that with our own social history  then make an informed assessment. In any case, these issues need to be tactfully managed because it appears when a nationality screams 'xenophobia' some are quick to volunteer diplomatic apologies.

The nigerians smuggle the drugs in there stomach, they make tubes of a weight of 10-20-50gr,which one has to swallow and fill his or her stomach to avoid control by dogs, but alert flight personel can tell who is a mule when the guest doesn't accept drinks or food,Zimbabwe is a transit port for the drugs destined for south africa, europe and Asia because the zimbabweans are not known for such inhuman work, heroin passes through also, but common drugs that zimbabweans in general take are, tobbacco, coffee, tea, beer,Mbanje and cough mixtures.some are addicted to prescription drugs.

Glue is the only drug I knew about when I was in Zim, but am not sure whether or not it was illegal, because street kids seemed to sniff in openly

Ask most (if not all) ex-UK Credit Card thieves now in Zim. Most of them are 'runners' now....

I heard they were planning a law that would make police shoot on sight any drug dealers (Nigerians) selling around a school

I think it's a very cost effective plan and I would endorse it anytime...
The sentence for illegal drug dealing is death, in most countries anyways...
