so was Pele boring ?

lol. of course you were gonna ask this question golo!! Dig into the archives and you will see that when I said Pele was the greatest I never said he was the most exciting. Infact I stated clearly that I would rather watch Diego, Dinho and Zidane anyday. I prefer my stars to have a level of laziness and unpredictability. Pele was not quite as machine like as Messi, but he certainly didn't have as much flair as Diego, Dinho and Zidane!! And infact this is hardly the first time I have drawn parallels between Messi and Pele!

Oh so Messi is a machine now coz he doesn't do those silly circus tricks like "one too many" crossovers? I call that efficiency!

C.Ronaldo.

Football is a spectator game...

It is supposed to be exciting...

Christiano, apart from being exciting, also scores a lot of goals, at a brilliant rate of about 1 or more goals per game...

That's a complete footballer...

One of the best ever!
Quite a lot is being made out of the junk to my view. I can see kwv is already insunuating that something positive could have been genetically donated into his gene-pool from the Neanderthal's huge brain. This is more like saying because we share some huge percentage of our genome with the house fly, we might at least have some gene capacity to fly.

should Madrid lift this La Liga, then Cristiano has definitely been a key part and very very instrumental in bringing it to Madrid, the most influential player for Madrid no doubt.

Very true but by no means did he 'carry' Madrid. He helped breakdown teams with his clinical finishing but was aided by excellent passing or exceptional work by play makers in the team. when going was tough a moment of genius from Ozil or De Maria finished off by Ronaldo wld finish off the rival team

I dont agreee... Ronaldo did it all alone... When Madrid needed inspiration Ronaldo provided. Ozil haana game raakambosimudza ini ndakatarira nemaziso angu two

Long range shots there, a back heel there, a good run into the box to play a directionless cross. Those were the game changers by Cristiano Ronaldo.

I dont know whats the big deal about players like De Maria who cant even hold a regular jersey for 3 games in a row... I will be surprised if Di Maria has played 20 league games. I have seen him about 10 times in the 30 or so Madrid games I watched. And that guy supposedly aides Cristiano who is a piece of furniture in the Madrid line up.

Because of injuries...he is a definite starter when fit. Thing is these guys unlock it for Ronaldo or provide him with a gem. Very recently  the match against Sporting, at one all did U see the Ronaldo goal and that pass from Di Maria? I am sure the goal was more how it was passed than how it was scored. I am not taking away anything from Ronaldo but it wld be very unfair not to acknowledge the genius of those play makers.

I now doubt those Madrid players should be playing xfor such a big team. There is an in characteristic timidity and lack of composure that is so unbig team! It can't be Mourinho coz he has walked this road before....what amateurish time wasting and no regard for ball possession at all. This does not look like the team of Ronaldo the great,  Zidane, Figo and Makhelele. Arbeloa is useless as a right back he does not cross for the ball to get to anyone...Granero is at best a C player while those 'stars' are a Fraud. Only Benzema seem to have a clue of what team he plays for

Me, I love doing this ....

The guy is just a good player, simple just good, the boy is carrying Real Madrid, and he has to be given credit for that

He simply went from best player in EPL and slotted into the star studded Madrid, and he is the Star of that multi-million dollar team, the only player on earth comparable to Messi at any one given time.

I remember when he used to don the red shirt at Old Trafford, he used to scare the bejesus out of teams, we were untouchable in the EPL, he could destroy by free kick, header, shot cross, noone dared say ManU is a weak team. He was carrying ManU also, he left our soft belly exposed  Posted Image

He is good, he does what he does best

dindigwe i think we can now agree that Ronaldo is the star of Madrid, their hope, he is their Messi, he now rises to the occasion on big matches literally.

Indeed Ronaldo is a star for Madrid but I refused to accept that 'He carries Madrid on his shoulders' as one excitable forumite put it. I tried to highlight how the other players where doing their crucial bits aswell. Events this season vindicate me, Ronaldo's form has not dipped from last season yet the team is in trouble coz the other players are not on same level a then.

On goal scorers: messi does not curl the ball, neither does he do arial goals (scissors, bike kicks etc), no prolific shooting abilities. Certainly not a great goal scorer in terms of quality. Watch van Persie or Ronaldo. Playing for barca just like arsenal its difficult not to score, so PA quantity, no comment.

On skills: messi can run stop abruptly and run some more. Chekuseri ndochake with his short bursts of acceleration. Apo ngaanyarare zvake. Iniesta can teach a thing or two.

Positional play: zvebarca, chomama chagara ari ma1.

Overall: messi is not a great striker kunana Ibra, pakati mazino kunana tiote who can surely mark him out, defence zero so nope messi is just a short kid on performance enhancing drugs who it so happens is loved by the media.

Ronaldo is in a class of his own. That guy knows about playing with your heart and to the best of your abilities. And for a winger his stats are very impressive. Unfortunately the media hates that he don't really need them. Ronaldo anyday anytime

Good point, Benzema,Alonso, and DiMaria have not played well and as a result the entire team looks weaker and even the absence of Marcelo's attacking has also affected them.

Di Maria played better than Ronaldo against Man U. Stop getting blinded by goals, Di Maria was all over Man U defense like a rash.

Very ineffective this Di Maria, he was rightly left alone and all resources devoted to keeping Ronaldo quiet.

But Ronaldo still did damage and has kept Madrid in this tie.
