I watched a documentary on Brazilian football the other night and while I have always been a fan of the great man what I realised when watching the documentary is how totally unselfish he was.

Many of us concentrated on his goal scoring records but what I noticed in this documentary was how many times he could of gone on to score but gave the ball to someone else because they had a slightly better chance.

The man was an absolute genius.

Of course I recognised it was a huge part of his game but what I am talking about here is the extent of how unselfish the great man was.

He was a great footballer for sure.
He is the greatest footballer to have ever played the beautiful game, but Messi is fast catching up.

Messi is of course a great player but I doubt that he or anybody else will ever have all of the skills that the great Pele had.
It would be interesting to see these modern players playing with those old heavy balls and boots, everything would change for them.
